Leroy J. Roedel, 75, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at Yates Center Health Care.
He was born Dec. 18, 1934, in southeast Kansas.
He served in the U.S. Army from October 1954 to September 1956 and spent some of that time in England.
He spent most of his life working as a mechanic in the Chanute area. Later he moved to California, Arizona and returned to Kansas to be near family members.
He was married and has two sons, David and Allen, living in England. He later remarried and has a son in California. He is also survived by three brothers, Richard, Rollin and Lanny, and a sister, Debbie Roedel Hodge.
He was buried today in Fort Scott National Cemetery.
