First Presbyterian Church in Iola was the 2 p.m. July 17 setting for the wedding of Carol Jane Toland, Washington, D.C., and Brian Thomas Napp, Columbus, Ohio. The Rev. James B. Rausch performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Karen Toland, Iola, and the late John Toland. The groom is the son of Dean and Debbie Napp, St. Joseph, Mich. Attending the ceremony was June Toland, Iola, grandmother of the bride.
The bride wore a gown of hand-beaded and embroidered Alencon lace with a sweetheart neckline, an asymmetrical drop waistline and an asymmetrically-tiered skirt flowing into a chapel-length train. A matching hand-beaded headpiece held the bride’s custom designed waist-length veil. She wore a strand of pearls given to her by her mother with an attached three-pearl drop pendant given to her by her three brothers. She carried a bouquet of white and pink calla lilies, white alstroemeria lilies, stephanotis, white freesias and white ranunculus accented with folded green hosta leaves. She also carried a handkerchief given to her by her paternal grandmother, June Toland, and her mother’s bridal Bible.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her brother, Kent, who lit a candle in memory of their father prior to the start of the service. The bride was given away by her three brothers.
Hillary Solt, Washington, D.C., served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kim Indovina, Minneapolis, Minn., Emily Welch, St. Louis, Mo., Jennifer Bahr, Topeka, Nicole Stejskal, Shawnee, and Kristen Napp, St. Joseph, Mich., sister of the groom.
Rob Stahl, Columbus, Ohio, served as best man. Groomsmen were Kevin Napp, Cedarville, Ohio, brother of the groom, David Logan, Union Grove, Wis., Andrew Fredrickson, Raleigh, N.C., Jonathan Penny, Chicago, Ill., and Scott Toland, Iola, Mark Toland, Wichita, and Kent Toland, Iola, brothers of the bride.
The flower girl was Abbey Sinotte, Kalamazoo, Mich., cousin of the groom. The ring bearer was Drew Gambrell, New Braunfels, Texas, cousin of the bride.
Serving as ushers were Louis Stejskal, Shawnee, and Francis Baalmann, Wichita. Guest book attendants were Mandy Miller, Topeka, and Grace Scovell, Kansas City, Mo., cousin of the bride. Program attendants were Bailey Batman, Pratt, Grace Gambrell, New Braunfels, cousin of the bride, and Taylor Sinotte, Kalamazoo, cousin of the groom. The bride’s personal attendant was Christina Turner, Iola.
Scripture reader was Dean Napp. Vocalists were Kent Toland and Jennifer Bahr and Mark Toland. Jan Knewtson, Iola, was the organist and pianist.
Following the ceremony, a reception and dinner were held at Chanute Country Club.
Following a honeymoon to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple are at home in Columbus, Ohio.
Mrs. Napp is a research associate with the Ohio Legislative Service Commission. Mr. Napp is an audit-in-charge with Plante & Moran, PLLC, a CPA firm with offices in Columbus.
