The parents of Maggie Jo Stevens are pleased to announce the engagement of their daugther to Brian Matthew Schmidt.
Maggie is the daughter of Chuck and Michelle Johnson and Charles and Jodie Stevens, all of Ottawa. She is the granddaughter of Jeanne Ann Percy of Iola and the late William Glenn Percy, and Charles and Marjorie Stevens of Ottawa.
Brian is the son of Toni and A.J. Schmidt of Ottawa and Dan and Cindy Keith of Pomona.
The bride-to-be is a 2007 graduate of Ottawa High School, where she was a member of the Cyclonettes Dance Team, Cyclones Show Choir, OHS Thespians and many other clubs and activities and was named an Exemplary Scholar. She attended Allen Community College on a cheer/dance scholarship and was a member of the Firestarters Dance Team, ACC cheerleaders, ACC Concert and Madrigal/Jazz Choirs and in the ACC theatre and musical productions, winning an ACE Award. She is currently employed by the City of Ottawa and is a Plexus Worldwide Ambassador.
The groom-to-be is a 20016 graduate of Pomona High School and attended Pinnacle Career Institute’s Wind Turbine School and worked for JMS Wind Energy as a certified wind turbine technician. He also attended AIT for helicopter maintenance. He is employed by Franklin County in the Public Works Department and has also served as a corrections officer. He participates in the Franklin County Live National Bike Challenge as well. Brian is a member of the Kansas National Guard, where he is an E-4 specialist in Delta Company and in the 108th Aviation Battalion.
The couple resides in Otawa and will be married at an outdoor ceremony on Sept. 10, 2016, at 2 p.m. at The Timberlakes Retreat near Williamsburg with a reception, dinner and dance to follow at The Eagles Lodge in Ottawa.
