MORAN — The 129th annual Moran-Marmaton Valley Alumni Association banquet and reunion was held on Saturday, May 23, in the MVHS Commons.
Vice President Chris Elmenhorst, Class of 1978, welcomed the 85 alumni and guests.
Lloyd Houk, Class of 1967, gave the invocation. Elmenhorst then recognized all veterans in attendance.
President Bailey LaRue, Class of 2023 led the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance. Current Marmaton Valley band members Chris and Mason Ferguson and Brendon Newman played the national anthem.
The banquet was catered by Estrellita Mexican Restaurant of Humboldt.
Reports were given by Recording Secretary, Jenny Chandler Spillman, Class of 1981; Treasurer, Nancy Mann Roberts, Class of 1967; Corresponding Secretary, Sarabeth Foster LaRue, Class of 2000, and Historian, Jamie Siefker Stodgell, Class of 1979.
Alumni were urged to contact the association at [email protected] with address updates and to follow Moran/Marmaton Valley Alumni on Facebook. They were also reminded to share obituaries and other items they would like included in the historical notebooks.

Moran-MVHS Alumni Scholarships were awarded to Chris Ferguson, Brevyn Campbell and Sophia Heim.
Oldest Male was Don Mann, Class of 1956
Oldest Female was Mary Ellen Murrow Stanley, Class of 1951
Oldest person serving in the military and person traveling the farthest distance to attend was Dan Synder, of San Clemente, Calif., Class of 1958.
Special recognition went to classes graduating in years ending with 1 or 6 and former teachers, Jerry Kinnamon, shop teacher and coach 1966-69, and Joe O’Rourke, fifth-grade teacher 1963-69.
