Dr. Robert Eugene Lacy, 94, of Topeka, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026.

He was born May 27, 1931, in Iola, Kan., the son of Harry and Gladys (Wilcox) Lacy. He graduated from Iola High School in 1949. He went on to receive his undergraduate degree in business and economics from the University of Kansas where he was also a member of the KU golf team and Sigma Chi Fraternity. He obtained his doctorate of dental surgery in 1961 from University of Missouri Kansas City. He served as a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Robert was a dentist in Topeka for 55 years, retiring in 2014.
He was a member of the Topeka Country Club where he served on the board of directors, Topeka Civitan Club, and Marine Corps League.
Robert married Jane Seidl on Aug. 27, 1954 in Great Bend. She survives.
Other survivors include daughters, Kathleen Hein, Carolyn (Nick) Berilla, Elizabeth McGreevy; son, Robert (Sarah) Lacy; daughter, Allison (Brian) Nyquist; grandchildren, Matthew Hein, Reed Hein and Lacy Hein, Ryan Berilla, Jessie Chapel, Beau Berilla and Ian Berilla, Patrick Lacy and Anna Lacy, Madison Nyquist and Melissa Nyquist; great grandchildren, Hudson Hein, Reese Berilla, Hunter Berilla and Harper Berilla, and Chase Chapel; and sister, Lois Replogle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harry Lacy and George Lacy; and son-in-laws, Larry Hein and Dennis McGreevy.
Robert was an avid golfer and KU sports enthusiast. He lived out his dream by developing and living on his own nine-hole golf course, proudly named Pebble Prairie Golf and Country Club.
In his later years, he loved giving his support to various charities and organizations. At the age of 92 he wrote a book titled “The Greatest Great Game,” (Based on Robert’s fantasy “If Hitler Played Golf”).
Services will begin with a visitation at 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, followed by a Celebration of Robert’s life at 4 p.m. The family invites you to join them for a reception following the service from 5 to 7 p.m.
