The community will send off Iola High School’s Underhogs competition BBQ team at 11:45 a.m. Sunday at the IHS parking lot.
The Underhogs are headed to Dallas to compete in the National High School BBQ Championships.
Iola’s contingent will consist of three separate teams: Full House BBQ, Small Town Smokers and Limp Brizket, who will each vie against 90 of the best high school BBQ teams in the nation.
The four-day competition will be held June 7-10 at the Grandscape in north Dallas.
Awards will be livestreamed via Facebook at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10.
