Submitted Photo The Humboldt Heat claimed the first runner-up trophy at the Kansas Babe Ruth State Baseball Tournament in Altamont Friday through Tuesday. The Heat beat Ottawa 14-8 in game one of the championship round, then lost 3-0. Humboldt’s team went 5-2 in the tournament, winning the Sportsmanship Award. Christian Wiltse won the spirit award and Kason Siemens was given the hustle award.
