Allen Community College resumed its winning ways with a 73-70 victory over Cloud County on Wednesday night.

The win snaps a three-game losing streak which saw the Red Devils slide from first to fourth in the Jayhawk East.

The Red Devils were led by a 25-point performance from Joel Boyce off the bench. Boyce finished 8 of 11 from the floor, and converted 7 of his 11 attempts from the foul line. The scoring showcase wasn’t Boyce’s only contribution, he also snagged 9 rebounds and a pair of steals.

Complimenting Boyce was three more Red Devils who finished in double figures. Shaikim Jenks converted all 6 attempts at the foul line and a pair of treys to highlight his 14-point outing. Tyus Jeffries and Malik Hardmon both finished with 10 points.

ACC held a 44-33 halftime advantage, and reached its largest lead of 13 a minute into the second half. After shooting 42.9% in the first half, the Red Devils ran cold in the second half. ACC missed all seven of its attempts from 3-point territory, and converted 7-25 inside the arc.

The win moves ACC into third place in the Jayhawk East with a record of 8-3 in conference play. The Red Devils remain two games behind division leader Cowley (10-1). ACC will have the chance to gain ground on Cowley when they host the Tigers at 4 p.m. Saturday.
