MORAN — Struggles early and late spelled trouble Tuesday for Marmaton Valley High’s girls. The Wildcats fell behind 12-7 after one quarter against visiting Northeast, then scored only two points in the fourth quarter to fall, 36-26. The defeat drops Marmaton Valley to 8-6 on the season. The visiting Vikings extended their lead to 24-17 at halftime and 32-24 after three. Aly Ard paced the Wildcats with 10 points. Tayven Sutton added six and Janae Granere five. Liberty Sigmon scored 13 and Kenzie Jackson 10 for Northeast. In junior varsity action, Marmaton Valley fell, 16-6, in two quarters. Madi Lawson, Brynn Newman and Brooklyn Adams each had two points for the Wildcat JV. Marmaton Valley travels to Altoona-Midway Friday.
