OSWEGO — Yates Center High had to work a little extra to pick up a pair of key victories Tuesday.

The Wildcats moved back over the .500 mark with three-set victories over Pleasanton and host Oswego.

Each set went down to the wire as well.

Yates Center toppled Oswego, 25-22, 24-26 and a 28-26 squeaker in the tiebreaker.

Callyn Miller led a balanced attack with five kills, followed by Kamdyn Trahahn, Morgan Collins, Grace Westerman and Molly Proper with three apiece. Miller and Proper had three and two service aces, respectively. Peyton Petit also had a pair of aces. Collins led with eight assists. Hannah Jones had 19 digs, followed by Miller with 12.

Then, after dropping their first set against Pleasanton, 25-22, the Wildcats rebounded to win the next two, 25-16 and 25-20. Statistics from that matchup were not immediately available.

At 14-12, Yates Center holds the third seed in its substate standings, with a doubleheader at Southeast of Cherokee next Tuesday, along with Crest.
