PLEASANTON — Yates Center High’s pitching continues to be a stingy bunch when it comes to giving up hits.
Two days after teammate Morgan Collins tossed a three-inning perfect game, Yates Center’s Molly Proper decided to keep her opponents hitless as well.
She allowed no hits over three innings in a 19-0 romp over Pleasanton.
That came after Collins started the afternoon by allowing a single hit over four innings in the Wildcats’ 20-1 victory.
The victories keep Yates Center on the right path with a 15-1 record and riding a 12-game winning streak.
Hannah Jones and Emma Grogg were the hitting stars in the opener. Each had two hits and four RBIs. Proper and Grace Westerman also had two hits. Collins and Miller had one hit apiece.
Collins allowed zero earned runs and one hit while striking out eight.
PROPER aided her own cause in the nightcap with three hits, while Collins had two hits and four RBIs. Miller and Addie Solander also had a pair of hits.
Jones, Grace Westerman, Allie Chrisman and Anna Westerman each had a hit.
Proper’s day on the mound included seven strikeouts.
Yates Center is back in action Monday at Southeast-Cherokee.
