ERIE — The Yates Center golf team got its season started on Monday and faced an interesting challenge on an extremely wet Erie course.
Reece Solander was able to perform the best in the elements, finishing in fourth place overall with an 87, just two strokes behind first-place finisher Trevor Watson from Caney Valley.
Wildcat senior Jon Barnes finished in 25th with a 113 and James Hess was in 37th with a 125.
“With this being Reece and James’ first high school tournament, I am pretty satisfied with their scores, though all three players should be able to shed some strokes off their scores as the season progresses,” Yates Center coach Kevin Barnes said.
