FREDONIA — Paul Stockebrand’s 86 tied him for ninth but he lost a scorecard playoff. That dropped him to 12th in the final standings of Tuesday’s golf tournament at Fredonia.
Stockebrand and the rest of the Yates Center High golfers combined for a 402. The Wildcats finished seventh in the tournament. Eureka won the tournament with a 327.
Jake Morrison shot an 88 for 13th and Dylan Bauman had an 89 to tie for 14th. Nick Schemper carded a 139 and Jaden Knoblock had a 140.
“Overall, I feel we did not do too bad. I was hoping for a score of under 400 and we almost did that,’ said Kevin Barnes, YCHS golf coach.
“This was Nick and Jaden’s first 18-hole varsity tournament and the first to play a course with sand bunkers.”
