LEONARDVILLE — Playing on the same course they will for regionals, Yates Center High’s Wildcats liked the sand greens of Leonardville Golf Course.
Yates Center won the Riley County High Invitational tournament Friday. The Wildcats put together a 338 team score. Rock Hills got second with a 350.
Jake Morrison led the Wildcats with a first-place individual medal. Morrison shot a 74 for the 18-hole event. Blake Fancis was the 10th-place medalist with an 86.
Dylan Bauman shot an 89 for 14th place. Paul Stockebrand had a 91 for 15th.
“I think this win really builds confidence since we go back to Leonardville for the regional. We beat the other teams which will be participating there,” said Kevin Barnes, Yates Center coach.
