ERIE — Yates Center High’s golf team opened the season Monday at a tournament hosted by Erie High School.
Jake Morrison and Dylan Bauman each shot 89s for the 18-hole event. Paul Stockebrand carded a 93.
“I think Paul and Jake knew they could have shot better. Each had trees ‘jump out’ to knock their golf balls down a couple of times,” said Kevin Barnes, YCHS golf coach.
“Dylan was pretty happy with his score. We have our first meet jitters out of the way now. We know what we need to do to improve our scores.”
According to their respective schedules, Marmaton Valley and Uniontown also competed in the tournament but did not submit reports.
