The young and talented Yates Center golf team has started the season on a tear. Theyve finished first in their first two varsity tournaments while placing multiple individuals in the top 10.
The Wildcats opened their season at Burlington on April 2 led by sophomore Easton Reynolds who finished first followed by freshman Jack King who took second.
Junior Reese Solander placed ninth.
A week later, the Wildcats traveled to Erie and finished first with an overall team score of 308 which was 48 strokes better than the second place team.
Reynolds took first again shooting a two-below par 70 followed by a 75 for King who took second and a 78 for Solander who placed fourth. Senior and first-year golfer Aaron King shot an 85 and placed 10th.
The junior varsity has also been in action.
They opened their season on April 1 at Erie and James Hess took third overall. The team finished in the top 25 at the meet.
They competed at Jayhawk-Linn on Thursday.
Hess took eighth with a 54 followed by a 59 for Jaylan Knight and a 60 for Gracie Splechter.
The team will compete at Fredonia on Tuesday.
