Yates Center boys fall at Southeast

The Yates Center Wildcat boys fell behind early and could never come back Tuesday in a 66-36 defeat. The Wildcats are back in action Friday against Pleasanton.

YATES CENTER — Visiting Southeast High made life miserable Tuesday for Yates Center.

Southeast turned a 17-10 first quarter lead to 38-19 at halftime and never looked back in a 66-36 victory.

The Lancers extended their lead through the third quarter, 64-28, before Yates Center ended the game on an 8-2 run.

Sean Hurst led Yates Center with 15 points, the only Wildcat in double figures. Taven Smoot followed with seven, Blake Audiss with six, Preston Hurst with four and Carter Burton and Cash Cummings with two apiece.

Yates Center hosts Pleasanton Friday.
