On Tuesday, Yates Center and Humboldt golf competed at Fredonia.

The Wildcats continued their hot start despite very windy conditions with a first-place finish.

Easton Reynolds and Jack King tied for first overall and Reynolds won the playoff hole.

Reece Solander took fourth overall.

Head coach Mike Fitzgerald also said that Aaron King and Addison Solander continue to show steady improvement throughout the season.

Meanwhile, Ryan Sellman and the Humboldt Cubs had a less- than-satisfying performance.

Sellman finished with an 81 which was good for fifth but he could’ve finished much higher. On the ninth hole, Sellman stumbled and ended up shooting a 10 which really set him back.

“He probably hasn’t taken a 10 since he was 10 years old,” head coach Scott Brady said. “But after the meltdown, I was proud of how he bounced back. He shot a two-over on the back nine.”

After Sellman, Reid Smith shot a 99, Drake Hottenstein shot a 104, Tanner Church shot a 105 and Roni Bulk shot a 120.

Yates Center will hit the links again today when they play at Pleasanton while Humboldt will hold off play until Monday when they come to Iola.
