The Allen Community College Athletic Department announced its male and female athletes of the year on Wednesday night at their athletic banquet.

Ashley Womack was named the Female Athlete of the Year and Pedro Montoya earned the Male Athlete of the Year.

“(Womack) was very deserving of the award,” Allen softball coach Jaime Jensen said. “With the stats that she has, academics and how she handles herself on campus, she was very deserving of that award.”

Montoya was named for cross country and outdoor track and field’s most valuable athlete.

Womack was also named the softball’s offensive player of the year.

“It is a huge honor to get athlete of the year,” Womack said. “I couldn’t have done it without my coaches and teammates. It is just awesome.”
