Winter Weather Cancellations

Due to ongoing cold and icy conditions, all area schools canceled school on Friday which also led to the cancelation of all sports and events that evening. Below is a list of the postponements and make-up dates:

– The Pioneer League wrestling meet hosted by Iola that was postponed to Friday has been moved again to today at Burlington, starting at 3 p.m.

– Iola boys and girls basketball games versus Anderson County were also rescheduled for today in Garnett. The girls will start at 1 p.m. with the boys following right after. These will be varsity only games. 

– The Tri-Valley League wrestling tournament has been postponed to today at 4 p.m. at Caney Valley.

-Humboldt boys and girls games versus Fredonia have been moved to Thursday. Their game on Tuesday versus Neodesha was also postponed but does not have a make-up date set as of press time. 

– Yates Center’s games at Erie have been postponed and a make-up date has not been set. Both boys and girls will play their make-up games at Uniontown today after having it postponed on Tuesday. JV girls and boys will each play two quarters starting at 2 p.m. followed by the varsity girls and boys.  

-Marmaton Valley’s game at Oswego that was originally scheduled for Thursday has been moved to Monday evening. The Wildcats’ game on Friday versus Southern Coffey County has been canceled and will not be made up. 

– Crest’s games at  Oswego have been moved to today with the varsity girls starting at 2 p.m. The Lancers also rescheduled their games at Olpe on Tuesday for Monday evening. 

– Allen County men’s and women’s basketball and baseball had multiple games moved due to this past week’s weather. The Allen men were set to take on Oklahoma Wesleyan JV at home on Thursday but that has been postponed until Feb. 18. 

-Allen baseball was also supposed start its season this weekend but the Red Devils’ games have also been postponed and a make-up date has yet to be set.
