HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt Cubs made quick work of Neodesha on Tuesday night.
The Cubs won both games 15-0 in their season opening home doubleheader.
The first game lasted four innings before Humboldt was able to lock up the victory.
Junior Rylan Wilhite pitched all four innings for the Cubs and didn’t allow a hit. She struck out six Neodesha hitters and allowed one walk and a hit batter.
Senior Tilar Wells and Wilhite led the Cubs with two hits each. Wilhite added a team-high three RBIs.
In game two, Wilhite shut out Neodesha in four innings. She allowed four hits and struck out two.
Sophomore leadoff hitter Morgan Mauk went 4-for-4 with five stolen bases in game two.
Wilhite added three hits while Aricah McCall, Maggie Johnson, Winter Snyder and Wells added two hits apiece.
“I was very happy with our first outing,” Humboldt coach Brad Piley said. “Rylan pitched great. We had some great defensive plays in both games. We only struck out one time in both games.”

Humboldt will host Erie today for a doubleheader. The game was moved from Erie.
