Wildcats end season with loss to Uniontown

PITTSBURG — The Marmaton Valley girls saw their season end in the semi-finals of the 2-1A regional softball semifinals thanks to a 9-2 loss to one-seed Uniontown.

The third seeded Lady Wildcats finished at 10-11.

Marmaton Valley took a 1-0 lead after an inning before the Lady Eagles scored six-unanswered runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings.

The Lady Wildcats scored a run in the top of the sixth and Uniontown scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to seal the win.

Junior starter Karlie Stephens earned the loss despite allowing one earned run out of the six runs scored in her 4.2 innings. She allowed five hits and three walks while striking out six.

Marmaton Valley’s defense committed five errors.

Patricia Outlan led the way with three hits; Stephens had two.
