OSWEGO — Marmaton Valley High’s track teams went mining for precious medals Tuesday at the Oswego Invitational.
The Wildcat boys took second and the girls fourth as MV athletes captured five individual gold medals.
Marmaton Valley’s Piper Barney was a two-time winner, besting all comers in the long jump, clearing 14 feet, 7 inches, and the triple jump at 30’10”.
On the boys’ side, Marmaton Valley’s Jaedon Granere and Brendon Newman took first and third, respectively, in the 800-meter run. Granere finished in 2 minutes, 20.31 seconds.
Bryant Uhlrich took gold in the 300-meter hurdles, finishing in 49.20 seconds.
Brayden Lawson was golden in the javelin, with a throw of 148 feet.
