Wildcat girls place second at Oswego meet

The Marmaton Valley girls opened up the 2018 track season with a second place finish at the Oswego meet on Tuesday.

The Wildcats scored 102 team points which was a point ahead of third place Oswego and eight points behind first-place Cherryvale.

Marmaton Valley was led by star Bailey Griffith who walked away with first-place finishes in all four of her events.

Griffith finished first in the 100-meter dash (12.93), high jump (4’8”), long jump (15’10.25”) and the triple jump (33’0.75”).

Kaylee Becker finished second in both the 400-meter dash (1:12) and long jump (14’5.5”) and Shelby Yoho finished second in the 1600-meter run (7:12).

Other top three finishes included a third-place finish in the 100 for Becker (13.46), and a third-place finish for Yoho in the 3200-meter run (15:48).

Up next, the Wildcats will compete at Three Rivers League foe Yates Center next Tuesday.
