Twenty-two area athleetes received postseason honors from Three Rivers League coaches in softball and baseball for 2010.
Named to the 2010 All-Three Rivers League Softball first team were Marmaton Valley High’s junior Cheyanne Miller as an infielder and freshman Kailey Boyd in the outfield.
Uniontown High’s senior Ithaca Marlier was named as a first-team pitcher and sophomore Hope Jurgensen as an outfielder.
Marmaton Valley’s Wildcats and Uniontown’s Eagles tied at 5-3 in TRL softball play for second place. Chetopa went undefeated, 10-0, in league action.
Garnering honorable mention in softball were pitchers Shelby Norman, Marmaton Valley senior, and Uniontown sophomore Tayler Shook; infielders Jamee McEndree, Marmaton Valley junior, and Uniontown junior Tiffany Poyner.
Uniontown senior Cassie Schwalm and sophomore Jessica Murrow and Marmaton Valley freshman Kacie Shadden were honorable mention outfielders. Marmaton Valley senior Alysha Westhoff was honorable mention as catcher.
Ethan Ericson, Marmaton Valley High senior, was one of three pitchers named to the 2010 All-Three Rivers League baseball first team.
Uniontown High’s Ty Clayton, a junior, was named the league’s top catcher.
Uniontown senior Kyle Mills was named to the first team as an outfielder. Uniontown sophomore Jordan Woods and Marmaton Valley junior Tanner Lewis are first-team infielders.
The UHS Eagles went 4-4 in TRL baseball action finishing second. Oswego and St. Paul were co-champions at 7-1. Marmaton Valley’s Wildcats were third at 2-6.
Earning honorable mention in the outfield were Marmaton Valley sophomore Taylor Lhuillier and freshman Jimmy Frye. Uniontown junior Anthony Myers took honorable mention as a pitcher.
