MORAN — The strong start to the season for the Marmaton Valley baseball team continued on Monday with a pair of high-scoring victories over Burlingame 11-10 and 18-12 in Moran.
In the 11-10 game one, Lane Bahnsen, Brock Hall and Caiden Elloit all went 2-for-4 hitting and Justice Pugh picked up the win on the mound.
“Justice pitched a great game,” Wildcat coach Derek Scharff said. “I was glad to see him get his first win the year. He has pitched well all year. We still made a few errors that made him throw a lot more pitches than necessary.”
In game two’s 18-12 decision, Bahnsen and Wilson each went 3-for-4 at the plate and Bahnsen picked up the victory.
“We did just enough to get the win, but could have played much better,” Scharff said. “I think these guys just like making it interesting.”
