West Elk too much for Yates Center boys

HOWARD — West Elk High came out on top 62-52 over the Yates Center High boys Friday night.
The Patriots came out swinging in the first quarter with a 19 -8 advantage. That role was reversed in the second with a 19-point Yates Center performance, compared to a 10-point West Elk quarter. The halftime score was 29-27 Patriots.
West Elk outscored the Wildcats 15-11 in the third and 18-14 in the fourth to finish out the contest.
Cameron Brown led Yates Center in scoring with 21 points, Caleb DeNoon had 15.
