LE ROY — Waverly found the Southern Coffey County High hardwoods much its liking Friday night.
The Waverly girls slapped their hosts 48-16 and the WHS boys pinned a 63-40 loss on the Southern Coffey County boys.
Waverly decided the girls game quickly, darting to a 28-6 half-time lead and then erased all doubt with a 16-5 third period advantage.
Matinee Hegwald had six of SCC’s 16 points, while Breanna Isch netted three. Ashley Romig topped Waverly with 19. Kendra Henry added 11 and Catherine Chapman had 10.
The boys game wasn’t much different.
Waverly surged to a 25-11 lead in the first eight minutes, and never looked back.
Aaron True was a beacon for SCC, though, as he tossed in 16 points, including four three-pointers. Josiah Witteman added 12.
Tre Tysoon led a balanced Waverly attack with 15 points. Jack Stroman had 11.
Waverly will travel to Burlingame Tuesday night.
