BUFFALO — Uniontown High’s Eagle girls posted a doubleheader win in Three Rivers League softball over host Altoona-Midway High’s Jets Thursday.
The Eagles’ Tayler Shook tossed a no-hitter in a five-inning, 12-0 win. Shook issued eight walks but struck out 10.
Uniontown scored three runs in each of the first two innings then four runs were plated in the third. The Eagles added two more in the fifth.
Hope Jurgensen had three singles and a double while Jessie Camac hit two doubles and a single. Cassie Schwalm had a single and a double.
Shook and Candice Clayton hit two singles each. Hitting a single each were Rayma Ridge, Audrey Dixon and Jessica Murrow.
The Eagles scored six runs in the first inning of the second game. Altoona-Midway got a run in the bottom of the inning.
With four runs in the third and three more in the fifth, the Eagles won 13-1.
Ithaca Marlier was the winning pitcher. She gave up three hits and had three strikeouts.
Jurgensen connected for three singles and a triple. Tiffany Poyner, Shook and Jessica Murrow each had two singles. Schwalm doubled and Marlier tripled.
Uniontown is 5-1 in league play and 9-3 overall.
