Uniontown, Marmaton Valley players receive TRL honors

Uniontown High’s Eagle girls won the Three Rivers League softball title, going 9-3 this spring. The Eagle girls had five players earn all-league honors.
There were nine players from Uniontown and eight players from Marmaton Valley High landing spots on the 2011 Three Rivers League softball and baseball teams. League coaches named first teams and honorable mention at the end of the season.
The Eagle girls had senior Tiffany Poyner and juniors Hope Jurgensen and Tayler Shook named to the TRL softball first team. Marmaton Valley’s senior Cheyenne Miller and sophomore Kailey Boyd joined them on the first team.
Honorable mention went to Uniontown freshmen Emily Shinn and Taylor wade and Marmaton Valley senior Jamee McEndree and sophomore Kacie Shadden.
Marmaton Valley sophomores Cole Becker and Daylen Houk and Uniontown’s junior Max Labbe were unanimous selections to the All-TRL  baseball first team.
Also on the first team were senior Tyler Hall and junior Jordan Woods of Uniontown.
Marmaton Valley’s Jimmy Frye, sophomore, and junior Derrick Carr and Uniontown senior Ty Clayton received honorable mention.
