RICHMOND — Uniontown High’s Eagles went 1-2 at Saturday’s Central Heights High Invitational volleyball tournament.
“I’m not disappointed in our play,” said Jackie Hall, Eagle head coach. “The adjustments we have made are working. At this tournament, we were hitting against some big blockers from Osawatomie and Santa Fe Trail. That is something we haven’t seen a lot of this season.”
Uniontown opened the tournament with a 25-22, 25-13 win over Erie. Hayden Rathbun served for 14 points and had five kills at the net. Hope Jurgensen had five kills and Ashley Nietfeld had three kills. Tayler Shook had 11 set assists.
Osawatomie beat the Eagles 25-23, 25-19. Rathbun served for six points and had six kills. Nietfeld had four kills and Jurgensen had two kills. Shook was credited with six set assists.
Santa Fe Trail defeated Uniontown 25-14, 25-20. Paige Stainbrook served up four points. Nietfeld had five kills and Rathbun had four kills. Hannah Travis delivered two kills. Shook had nine set assists.
The Eagles host Marmaton Valley and Pleasanton Tuesday.
