The Central Heights Vikings remain undefeated after sweeping the Yates Center Wildcats 21-3, 15-2 Monday evening.

In the opener, the Wildcats staved off a mercy rule for two innings until a 10-run fifth inning decided the game 21-3. Senior outfielder Garrett Audiss had a team-leading two RBIs while sophomore pitcher Evan McVey tallied four strikeouts in the losing effort.

Not much changed in the finale as the Wildcats scored a run in the second inning and another in the third. It was not enough after a five-run Central Heights second inning and a six-run fifth decided the game.

Senior outfielder Kevin Brown posted Marmaton’s only RBI while junior pitcher Blake Morrison and senior Kaden Rutherford each tallied a strikeout in the losing effort.

The Wildcats return to the diamond Thursday on the road when they face the Northeast Vikings for a doubleheader. First pitches for both games are slated for 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.
