Tryouts for a pair of area youth traveling softball teams are scheduled for this week. TRYOUTS for the SEK Vipers, a traveling 10-and-under softball team, will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Riverside Park.
Tryouts for a 12-and-under traveling girls softball team will run from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Diamond 1 in Riverside Park.

Participants must be 10 years or younger by Dec. 31 to be eligible.
Players are asked to wear proper ball attire and bring equipment.
Tournaments will run in September and October, then resume as early as April 2014. The 2014 season will run through July. Most of the tournaments will be in Olathe or the greater Kansas City areas.
