Boys and girls, ages 11-14, wanting to play on a traveling soccer team have the opportunity to tryout for the Iola 14-and-under soccer team this weekend.
On Saturday and Sunday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. tryouts will be held at the RiverTree Christian Church soccer field. Players need to be there both nights.
There are slots for 18 players on the roster plus four athlternates in case of injury. There is a $45 per player fee for new players and $25 per player for returning players.
Players should wear cleats and shin guards for the tryout sessions plus bring water.
The Iola team plays in the 14-and-under SEK League against Coffeyville, Fort Scott, Independence and Columbus this fall. All games are on Sundays except tournaments.
The first tournament is Sept. 10-11 in the Iola Larney Invitational.
