YATES CENTER—Eureka High’s Tornadoes outplayed Yates Center High’s girls here Tuesday night as they handed the Wildcats their 10th loss of the season with a 53-40 victory.

All game long the Wildcat offense struggled to match Eureka’s. The Wildcats found themselves down by 10 points after the first period and 13 at the half.

“They got all the offensive rebounds and they had a lot of put backs,” said Abbie Collins, Wildcat head coach.

Things didn’t get much better for Yates Center in the second half. The Tornadoes came out firing and widened their lead to 16 heading into the final period.

Lindsay Francis and Bailie Chambers led the Yates Center offense with 11 points each.

Eureka’s Ashlyn Schwarts led all players with 17 points, connecting on three three-pointers along the way.

The Wildcats are 4-10 on the season.
