One is a fluke, two is a coincidence and three is a pattern.
That old saying certainly applies to how the Red Devils’ women’s basketball team has been playing of late in route to three straight victories, including Tuesday’s 78-70 win over Garden City Community College.
During the streak, Allen Community College has demonstrated an ability to win in all sorts of situations.
“We are probably ahead of schedule when it comes to playing with nine freshmen,” Allen coach Todd Buchanan said. “That was the mind set and philosophy behind playing a tough non-conference schedule. I think that is paying dividends now, because we went through those wars and fights and we’ve been punched in the nose and now we know how to respond to it.”
Last week, Allen beat Neosho County in front of a boisterous home crowd. They then proved they can win on the road by topping Colby on Saturday. Tuesday’s offered a completely different environment, however.
