Iola High School’s state-bound baseball and track and field teams will get rousing community sendoffs this week.
Supporters will bid adieu to the baseball players as they head out to Salina at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The team bus will start at the high school and travel through downtown before heading out of town.
The Mustangs open the Class 4A State Baseball Tournament at about 1:15 p.m. Thursday against Ottawa.
THE IHS track teams will depart the high school at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, again parading through downtown before heading to Wichita for the State Track Meet, which runs Friday and Saturday at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium.
