Strong cross country performance highlights weekend for Red Devils

Red Devil runner Ricardo Banuelos continued his fantastic sophomore season with a fourth-place finish in the Oklahoma State University Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday. He ran a 26:35.5.
Allen had four runners in the top-30 places of the 162-runner field and were able to take fourth as a team out of 21 teams.
Phillip Langmann finished 15th, Ludreche Bouanga was 18th and Anthony Glasgow took 30th.
Alejandro Ruiz rounded out the top-five Red Devil runners by finishing in 50th.
Kaitlyn Shoemaker has been nearly as dominant for the Red Devil women’s team as Banuelos has been for the men.
The sophomore finished sixth with a 19:01.7.
Freshman Abby Stienhauser was the next Red Devil to cross the line with a 16th-place finish.
The Red Devils finished fifth as a team, three spots ahead of conference-rival Cowley College.
Vicky Ibarra, Kristina Silvers and Kim Rodriguez rounded out the top-five runners for Allen with 38th-, 69th- and 80th-place finishes respectively.

SOCCER
Both Allen Community College soccer teams were forced to go on the road Saturday to face Johnson County Community College.
The women lost 6-1 with the lone goal coming from Tyra Younie and the assist coming from forward Brynn Suddeth.
The men also were held to one goal and fell 3-1.
