St. Paul beats Eagles

BRONSON — Uniontown High’s Eagles lost twice to the visiting St. Paul High Indians Friday at Dawson Field in Bronson.
The Indians piled up an 11-1 lead through three innings. The Eagles made a run late but couldn’t catch up.
Anthony Myers dropped to 4-3 pitching for the Eagles. He went just 12⁄3 innings allowing five runs on eight hits and had one strikeout. DuShaun Robinson and Jordan Woods pitched in the game also.
Uniontown had eight errors in the game.
Ty Clayton hit a two-run homer, which came in the seventh, and two singles. Robinson had two doubles. Max Labbe hit a double and a single.
Tyler Hall, Woods and Myers each had a single.
Uniontown scored five runs in the second and led until the fourth. St. Paul scored three runs in the fourth to tie the game at 5-5.
The Indians took the lead on two runs in the fifth inning then had single runs in the last two frames. The Eagles scored two in the seventh.
Labbe and Woods pitched for Uniontown. Again, the Eagles had eight defensive errors.
Clayton had a double and a single and Kyle Mills hit two singles for the Eagles. Labbe and Garret Murrow each had a double.
Hall, Woods and Robinson each had a single.
The Eagles’ home doubleheader with Chetopa Monday was rained out. No make-up date was known at press time.
