Here’s a little trivia for local sports history fans.
The 2020 spring sports season, of course, was wiped away by the COVID-19 pandemic, which shuttered campuses in the midst of spring break.
But before the season was canceled, Iola High School was able to compete in one event last year.
What was it?
Here’s a hint. The squad will get a jump on the rest of the spring sports teams again this year when the IHS tennis team opens serve Thursday at home.
Chris Belknap, who has coached the Fillies tennis team the past few years, is pulling double duty and will oversee the Mustang squad.
Most of the other teams will begin play at the end of the month or in early April.
