Sports events rescheduled

The wintry weather threw the past week’s sporting event calendar into a tailspin. Schools are scrambling to plug in makeup dates with a limited amount of time — substate tournament seeding is done Feb. 23 any games after that won’t count for teams in seeding for the substate tournaments, Feb. 28-March 5.
Here’s a run down of the activities rescheduled so far.
Allen County Community College’s games at Highland Community College Monday. This means the ACCC teams will play a slate of Saturday, Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Iola High’s wrestling dual with Osawatomie, which is parents’ night for the Mustangs, was postponed from Thursday to Tuesday. Parents’ night activities start at 5:20 p.m. The Mustangs have a Southeast Kansas League double dual with Columbus and Parsons, originally scheduled Jan. 11 and rescheduled for Feb. 1, which could be made up on Saturday, Feb. 12, at Pittsburg.
Iola High’s SEK home basketball games against Chanute are rescheduled for Feb. 21.
Area basketball games rescheduled, as of Friday afternoon, are: Marmaton Valley — Marmaton Valley at St. Paul, Feb. 10, Marmaton Valley at Altoona-Midway, Feb. 14, Uniontown at Marmaton Valley, Feb. 21; Chetopa at Uniontown, Feb. 24; Yates Center at Eureka, Feb. 17; Crest — Hartford at Crest, Feb. 18, Chetopa at Crest, Feb. 21; Humboldt at Neodesha (unknown).
