HUMBOLDT — Humboldt Speedway owners have set up their second annual Fan Appreciation Night Friday evening, offering free admission to anyone who brings a non-perishable food item or monetary donation at the gate.
Proceeds will benefit the Humboldt Ministerial Alliance’s Food Pantry.
The pantry is in need of canned food items, dry beans, shampoo, conditioner, soap and money.
Donors can call Pastor David Meyer at (620) 473-0205 for more specific items.
“We want to show our gratitude to the race fans, sponsors, advertisers and drivers for their support for the past 24 years,” speedway owner Rhenda Whitworth said. “It’s been a tough year, but we have made it through. I’ve seen where (the pantry) is in need and thought this would be a good way for people to help out with a small donation.”
Rain washed away last week’s races.
