Special Olympians shine at Erie meet

Special Olympics athletes young and old competed May 12 at a track meet in Erie. The athletes will travel to Pittsburg for a meet on May 26.

ERIE — Iola Special Olympics athletes traveled to Erie May 12 for a track meet.

Fayth “Golden Girl” Simpson: first in 50-meter race, softball throw and standing long jump.

Kyle Schmidt: third in 50-meter race and standing long jump and fourth in softball throw.

Cody Chastian: second in 25-meter race and third in tennis ball throw.

Kaden Priddy: first in 10-meter race and second in tennis ball throw.

Ty Johnson: first in the tennis ball throw, second in the 200-meter walk and third in the 100-meter walk.

Dakota Knowles: first in the 25-meter assisted walk and third in the tennis ball throw.

Casey Riebel: first in the 25-meter race walk and third in the softball throw.
