Sonic Stealers win tournament

The Sonic Stealers, a 12-and-under traveling softball team, won the Blue Division of Spring Fling VIP Tournament in Blue Springs, Mo. last weekend.
Sonic Stealers have players from Iola, Humboldt, Moran, Uniontown and Yates Center. It is sponsored by Dan Oswalt of Iola Sonic Drive-In.
The team went undefeated in pool play, winning 7-3 over Dawgs, 17-1 over Independence Fraternal Order of Police and 7-1 over All Stars. Rylan Wilhite pitched a no-hitter against Independence FOP.
In bracket play, Sonic Stealers beat Sidewinders 7-2. That put them in the championship game which they won 3-1 over Nitro. Kyndal Frederick pitched both games.
Hitting totals for the tournament: Jessica Rossillon, four singles and two doubles; Reghan Sigg, three singles, one double, one triple; Frederick, one single, two triples, a home run; Ashlie Shields, four singles;
Megan Hudlin, Holly Shinn, Sydney Houk, two singles each; Sydney Wade, a single and a double; Makaylah McCall, a double and a triple; Riley Murry, Anna Whitcomb, Wilhite and Emily McKarnin, a single each.
