Iola High senior tailback Jerrik Sigg posted the second-best single-game rushing total in Mustang football history Friday night.
Sigg rushed for 239 yards on 26 carries in Iola’s 57-32 loss at Parsons. The 6-1, 172-pound Sigg scored all but two points for the Mustangs.
Sigg had 459 all-purpose yards, which included 198 yards on six kickoff returns and a 22-yard reception.
Sigg passed his older brother, John, for second place. John Sigg rushed 222 yards on 22 carries against Independence on Sept. 23, 2006.
Tyler Ringwald has the top single-game rushing performance for Iola High. He had 291 yards on 14 carries against Girard on Oct. 27, 2005.
