Middle School Track and Field: Humboldt Cubs
The Humboldt Middle School track and field team competed at Neodesha on Monday.
The eighth-grade girls led the way for the Cubs finishing third. The seventh-grade boys and girls and the eighth-grade boys all finished fifth.
For the eighth-grade girls, Kirstyn Murrow finished third in the 3200 (15:49) and Kiesten Kobold finished third in the 1600 (6:52).
Kobold, Ashtyn Aikins-Ansley, Laken Hunter and Anna Go-forth finished third in the 4×100 relay with a time of 1:01.28.
The 4×200 relay team of Aikins-Ansley, Hunter, Katy Parker and Peyton Galloway finished third with a time of 2:10.52 and the medley relay team of Kobold, Murrow, Parker and Madi White finished second (2:14.55).
Murrow finished first in the 800 (2:51.17) and White finished third (2:52.5).
Laken Hunter finished first in the shot put with a throw of 334.
The seventh-grade girls were led by first-place finishes from Lulu Melendez in the 3200 (14:47) and in the 800 (2:59.84).
Leah Mueller also finished top three in the 800 with a third-place finish (3:02.99).
Karly Wools finished second in the 400 with a time of 1:14.87.
The medley relay team of Ella Lassoman, Morgan Hunter, Carsyn Haviland and Wools finished second (2:19.83).
Aiden Gean finished second in the 100 for the seventh-grade boys with a time of 13.51 and first in the long jump with a distance of 168.
The medley relay team of Gean, Gavin Jaro, William Kobold and Javyn Hess finished third (2:12.05) and the 4×100 relay team of Jaro, Hess, Kobold and Gean finished third (58.49.)
The eighth-grade boys were led by Aden Kelley, who finished first in the long jump (179) and third in the 100 (13.04).
Drew Wilhite finished second in the 1600 (5:19) and third in the 800 (2:27.65).
Colton Johnson finished second in the high jump (54).
