The Iola Seahorses competed against Humboldt Wednesday night at Riverside Park. Iola swimmers came in first place 42 times during the individual races. The team won eight of 12 relay races.
“They swam really, really well,” said coach Ciara Klubek. “I’m impressed with a lot of time improvements. Some kids had a little bit of trouble, but they swam their best and that’s all I can expect from them.”
For the season, Klubek has noticed an increase in confidence.
“I’m really impressed with a lot of my kids,” Klubek said. “The little ones have gone up with their confidence and that’s what I want. It doesn’t matter if your times get better, it matters if your confidence improves like swimming in deeper water. That’s what I want.”
