The only way Se-Kan Asphalt could win the 2011 Iola PeeWee League tournament was to win three games in a row. No problem, right.
Except it had to do it in one night. And it did on Thursday at Riverside Park.
Se-Kan Asphalt defeated Shields’ Barber Shop 11-4 in the losers bracket final. That put it in the championship game against Dairy Queen, the No. 2-seeded team in the tournament. Se-Kan Asphalt won the regular season and was the top seed of the tournament but lost to Dairy Queen 15-13 Monday.
Se-Kan Asphalt rolled to a 12-5 win over Dairy Queen to force a second and deciding game for the championship. Cal Leonard pitched a no-hitter for Se-Kan Asphalt, which posted a 15-0 victory over Dairy Queen for the title.
