LE ROY – Southern Coffey County High basketball players had some tough medicine to take Friday night after both the girls’ and boys’ teams lost close games at home.
The Lady Titans opened the night with a 41-35 loss to the Lebo High Wolves, followed by an equally heartbreaking loss by the boys. The Titans fell to Lebo 51-46.
Both Titan teams blew first half leads in the Lyon County League matchups.
Leading the Lady Titan offense were Ashton Isch with 18 points, a game high, and Katelyn Rogers with nine. For the Wolves, Shelby Holmes and Ivy Ables were leading scorers with nine points each.
For the boys, leading the way in the losing effort for the Titans were Scott Fischer with 14 points and Aaron True with 11. Trevor White’s 14 points set the pace for the Wolves’ offense.
On Tuesday, the Lady Titans dropped their LCL opener at Madison, 41-38. Ashton Isch was 13 of 13 at the free-throw line with a career-high 23 points Sarah Webb pulled dwon 15 rebounds and Breanna Isch had 11 rebounds.
Southern Coffey County’s squads go to Melvern Tuesday to play Marais Des Cygnes Valley High’s teams.
