The Southern Coffey County boys and girls ended their seasons last week at the hands of Lyon County League-foe Olpe.
The girls (8-11) lost 69-24 on Thursday while the boys (9-10) went down 56-45 a day later on Friday.
The Lady Titans had a tall task ahead of them facing the undefeated Lady Eagles on their own floor and it showed.
SCC scored just eight points in the first half compared to 46 for Olpe. Things picked up a tad in the third quarter where the Lady Titans went point-for-point with the Lady Eagles but a three-point fourth quarter versus Olpes back-ups sealed the loss.
Senior Haven Harvey led all scorers with nine followed by six for senior Crystal Alumbaugh, five for junior Reed Szambecki and four for junior Bryli Copeland.
Senior Jordyn Stone had three assists and senior Braelyn Falls did not record any stats in the game.
THE BOYS game was much closer.
Olpe took an early 16-8 lead after a quarter but a second-quarter rally including a buzzer-beating three from SCC sophomore Nathan Borntreger cut the Eagles halftime lead to 30-27.
Early in the third quarter, the Titans drew the lead to a point and nearly tied things up before Olpe stretched their lead to nine points heading into the fourth quarter.
SCC stayed in range for a bit but after the Eagles went 6-for-9 from the free throw line in the quarter, the Titans couldnt get back within eight points.
SCC was led in scoring by senior Dawson Leimkuhler who had 15, senior Kolgan Ohl who had 12 and senior Jonathan Borntreger who had nine. Nathan Borntreger had six and senior Jett Harvey had three.
SCC athletes will now head into track season.
